Diablo III Won't Hit PlayStation 4 Until 2014

Blizzard has announced its PlayStation 4 version of Diablo III won't be available before 2014.

In a Diablo Fans interview with developers, it was noted that the team has only just received PS4 development kits meaning the next-gen version of the game won't be ready for the console's launch.

This is partly due to the company's determination to make the most out of Sony's new device; the developers have explained they are keen to try and innovate with both the trackpad and share button, rather than just offer the same experience from the PS3.

Blizzard also warned that there was no guarantee future expansions would ship on every platform at the same time, as once again the onus would be on making relevant versions for each device.

It was announced last month that the console version of Diablo III would arrive on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 3. Due to the fact that the game is coming to Microsoft's current console, there's been a fair amount of speculation it could appear on the Xbox One as well. Nothing's been confirmed as yet, but we'd assume that if this is the case it too won't be available before next year.
