To celebrate 50 years of X-Men comics, Marvel Entertainment has joined forces with GREE to release the mobile game X-Men: Battle of the Atom, a tie-in with the upcoming 'comic book event' of the same name.
Battle of the Atom is pitched as a free-to-play mobile game featuring heroes and villains from the X-Men comic book timeline, where players can play through their favourite story arcs across multiple eras of X-Men history...using digital trading cards.
“X-Men: Battle of the Atom brings card battle to the next level,” says Sanku Shino, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Developer Relations at GREE. “It includes cutting-edge features like team-battle and eye-popping graphics by Marvel artists to allow fans new and old to experience the classic X-Men story arcs and characters in new and innovative ways."
X-Men: Battle of the Atom's narrative will gradually evolve as new characters are added and events are updated on a regular basis. The title will be released on iOS and Android later this year.
