Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention. Lums – ($0.99)
In a world where vampires have invaded and stolen the sun, it's up to you to control the movements of the glowing Lums – as they crash into the vamps' protective, shadowy shelters Angry Birds-style to let in light and burn the baddies to a crisp. It looks and sounds brilliant. Check out the trailer, at the very least:
Lums HD – ($1.99)
Lums isn't a universal app, so use this link if you're an iPad owner. (There are also "Free" trial versions available, if you want to give it a try before you buy.)
Chillaxian – ($1.99)
The developers of the excellent Punch Quest are back with a new game that they completed in a single day at the end of last month, as part of a game jam challenge. Chillaxian looks pretty snazzy for just 24 hours' effort, though – it's a laid-back, chilled-out version of early '80s arcade shooters.
Astronaut Spacewalk HD – ($3.99)
And if you're in the mood to chill out in space, consider taking the realistic spacewalk sim for a spin. (It's chill because, you know, astronaut don't move that fast when they're spacewalking.)
A couple of Kemco's $8.99 RPGs have dropped down to under one dollar today. Take your pick of either of this pair:
RPG Covenant of Solitude – ($0.99)
RPG Silver Nornir – ($0.99)
Rockstar has discounted their entire line across the App Store, so it's a great day to step into a virtual life of crime:
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – ($2.99)
Grand Theft Auto III – ($2.99)
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars – ($2.99)
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD – ($2.99)
Max Payne Mobile – ($1.99)
Finally, three free pinball tables for you to enjoy today.
Jungle Style Pinball – (Free)
Wild West Pinball – (Free)
The Deep Pinball – (Free)
That’s it for today! Email subscriptions to the App Store Update are still just one sign-up away, right here:
