Ubisoft Narrows The Division and The Crew Release Windows

Ubisoft has released its financial report for the first quarter of this year, and narrowed the release window for some of its upcoming titles.

The report shows that in the three months ending June 30, Ubisoft saw sales of €76 million, which is down 42% compared to the same period last year, when the company posted €131 million.

Despite this, Ubisoft announced sales in this period were higher than its target of €70 million thanks to a 56% increase in back-catalog sales to to €60 million, including Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed III, Just Dance 4, Rocksmith and Rayman Origins.

We can expect it will be closer to the end of the year than the beginning

Digital business is also on the rise, increasing 27% thanks to both Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.

The next quarter will see both Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Rayman Legends release, which the company predicts will see sales rise to €200 million, up 35% for the same period last year.

In terms of what the next year holds, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed during the investor call (via CVG) that persistant-online racing game The Crew is targeted for the first quarter of 2014, while The Division will apparently be later in the year. According to Guillemot (via Joystiq), he said "We can expect it will be closer to the end of the year than the beginning," before clarifying he meant the calendar year, not the financial one.
