Comic-Con: Transformers, Star Trek, More Coming to Madefire

A little while back, we ran this piece about a young digital company called Madefire that publishes motion books -- a new method of digital storytelling that incorporates animation, sound effects, and music for use on your tablet or mobile device. A method so innovative, even DC Comics seems to be expanding on it for their DC2 initiative.

Madefire Expands the Reading Experience with Motion Books

Today, Madefire announced something pretty big -- they've built a partnership with IDW Publishing, Top Cow, Boom! Studios, and ITV Studios America. This means that those company's respective properties -- things like Transformers, Star Trek, My Little Pony, The Darkness, 2 Guns, and more -- will be getting the motion book treatment, available exclusively through Madefire.

The new motion books will be adaptations of existing comics, the first time Madefire has attempted the adaptation process.

"A primary goal from Day One has been to work with the top publishers in the print and entertainment space toward adoption of the Motion Book experience," said Madefire co-founder and CEO Ben Wolstenholme in the company's press release. "To launch with an elite group of publishers out the gate is tremendous and speaks volumes to their visionary approach to storytelling."

If you're attending San Diego Comic-Con, you can check out  some motion book demos at Madefire's booth, #4902 and #4904.
