Although director James Cameron is still hard at work penning Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, we've heard rumblings about other projects the filmmaker has lined up, including his long-awaited adaptation of Battle Angel.
According to Coming Soon, Cameron still hasn't lost sight of the anime property, and recently said that he plans to start development on the film sometime in 2017, adding that its themes of trans-human exploration have "haunted" him for years.
2017 seems reasonable, with the two Avatar sequels reportedly scheduled for release around December 2015 and 2016, respectively.
In addition to Avatar and Battle Angel, Cameron also has The Informationist set up at 20th Century Fox. It's uncertain, however, where this will fit in with the other three projects.
