A little over a month ago, ASUS announced plans to debut its professional-grade 4K PC monitor. As reported by Engadget, the company has now placed the 31.5-inch display for pre-order, but the price tag is (expectedly) a bit on the higher end. Landing one of these Ultra HD monitors will set you back a hefty $3499.99.
Shipping on July 16, the ASUS PQ321 offers a 3840 x 2160 pixel display with 10-bit RGB support and 176-degree viewing angles. The panel utilizes Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) in its LCD, as opposed to amorphous silicon, which ASUS claims enables smaller pixels and reduces energy consumption. Accordingly, the company claims the monitor provides a resolution equal to "four Full HD displays combined." The PQ321 measures only 35mm at its thickest point, with ASUS touting the monitor as the thinnest UHD consumer monitor on the market.
Built-in stereo speakers remove the necessity for additional audio hardware, and the PQ321 is wall mountable. Available ports include dual HDMI inputs, a 3.5mm audio jack, and DisplayPort connectivity. You can pre-order ASUS' UHD monitor now from Amazon, Newegg, and TigerDirect.
